Another great day in San Diego and GC's very first Padres game in SD! Sadly, the Padres lost the game that night but hey at least they gave us a fireworks show! (ha! I wanted the Sunday gift of the lunch box.. please.)

Home Sweet Home
GC and I are here sitting at the airport, not ready to end our trip back from California. Our trip started last week with a trip home to San Diego to see the fam, friends and show GC more of Southern California. We flew out on the new Virgin America... amazzzzing! I don't think I can fly any other airline again (well I guess if they are cheap enough) But that weekened we also met up with good friends for some drinks, laughs, midnight beach run, and good 'ol filibertos!

The Italian Job
Another night out with those loveable Italians. Hookah was the theme for the night..another great night of my italian language-immersion program. It is going to be sad to see them go. It has been so fun showing them new and different things from the italian culture. The other night we took them for sushi and hibatchi.. although only one was a fan of sushi, they all tried it, and learning english words muffin (which they loved to eat now)...and prounced maffee. I am now counting down my days to return back to Italy!
Catia, Marcello, Alexandria (GC & Marcello's cousin) Giancarlo

Their first Hookah experience
Five are the same, and one is different
You wouldn't be able to tell that they didn't even speak the same language as each other!

Hoboken
Saturday we took Jenn down to Hoboken to experience Jersey at its best! Giancarlo's cousin and her friends were also in town from Italy and we got a chance to spend the weekend with them... trying our best to pick out Italian words that we might understand, but also gave Jenn the "Sunday Italian dinner" experience, which even I'm still trying to get used too!

Ahoy, Matey!
This past weekend, one of my best friends came out for the weekend. Friday night we had the opportunity to go on a boat cruise... it was actually an alumni event for a college that we didn't graduate from but hey, free is free! The boat went all around New York and the weather couldn't have been more perfect!

Cowboys & Indians
It has been a whirl-wind of a summer, but its come down to the last weekend.. and the countdown for the next great adventure. Last week we celebrated Giancarlo's 26th birthday. He was very spoiled I must say.. but I would be lying if I said that he didn't deserve it. The first (of many) events was the Padres vs. The Mets game. Even though it was a record low (freeeeezing 50 degrees) and the Padres lost (boo) we all still had a great time! I do have to say that the Padres went on to win the next two games, but I told them to let the Met's win because it was GC's birthday. HA. The following night we ended up at this ammmazing restaurant in the West Village, Broncas. They ended up closing the patio (because of the weather) but we sat inside with our pitcher of sangria and variety of tapas. I would move to Spain if only to live on sangria and tapas for the rest of my life! I forgot how much fun the West Village is, even with odd summer weather, everyone was out and about- all the restaurants sides wide open with customers piling out in the streets. New York summers are almost up there with the So Cal ones. We ended the week with GC & Katie's "cowboys & indians" birthday party at great bar where the party ended up just being all of GC & Katie's friends...and a few locals. Great juke box, cheap drinks, and amazing friends...OH and this happened to be on the HOTTEST night of the summer...hey, one extreme to the next, what more can you ask for!?

LollapalOOOza '07

I am still trying to wrap my head around all the events that surrounded working this year at Lollapalooza. I decided to help out my old boss and return this summer for another year of Lolla madness. The festival expanded from a two-day weekend to a three-day festival featuring artists; Modest Mouse, Iggy & the Stooges, Interpol, My Morning Jacket, Ben Harper, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Snow Patrol, Amy Winehouse, The Roots, Daft Punk.. and of course, Pearl Jam. The highlight of the weekend (pictures to come later on it) had to be being in the photo pit for the Pearl Jam show. Eddy ended the show with a duet with Ben Harper. Dennis Rodman and Lance Armstrong crashed the stage and it became an all-out love fest. Other highlights would have to be hanging out with Bill (the winner from the first Apprentice) as he interviewed Silver Sun Pickups in the Lolla Lounge, driving golf carts while ABC News was interviewing LCD Soundsystem (look for me on TV) hanging out with MTV as they interviewed The Roots backstage, and Modest Mouse, and of course the after party which was held in the artist lounge directly behind the main stage. Can't wait for next year!
