weekend fun

The best thing about summer in the city is the BBQ's!!! This past Saturday was Lacey's birthday party. The best thing is that she lives right around the corner from GC so didn't need to stumble too far to get back home. Among my many goals in life.. a backyard with a BBQ is among the top 10.

Georgetown

Some pics of Georgetown. We ended up going to a down-home Texan bbq place for dinner. I have to admit that we decided to go there simply because of the thrones of people out on the porch, but it definitely hit the spot, and gave us an excuse to walk around Georgetown after.

D.C. with G.C.

Memorial weekend, G.C. and I decided to take a long weekend down to our Nations capital. We were complete history nerds (as always) went to every famous spot, The White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and definitely lived it up in the Washington night life. I think our favorite area is Georgetown. An amazing little area that is a bit of a trek to get to definitely worth getting lost to get to (We learned the hard way that the cabbies are not like in New York!) G.C. and I also found ourselves crashing the Washington Magazine Party. Hey, they asked for us to take our picture on the red carpet.. how could I say no. So look for us in the summer issue!
We also spent out 2 year anniversay down at a great resturant named Zolas. The took care of thier girl by treating us to an unbelievably romatic evening. We celebrated with Fondue and Champange.. what more could a girl ask for!

I'm a lil' devil!

I don't really remember the score..or really if we won, but I did keep my large New Jersey Devils souvenir cup, my Devils foam finger, and am happy to say that I did not indeed get a nose-bleed from our seats. Next up, Socccccerrr!

My super sweet 26

I feel old. For my amazing 26th birthday what better way to celebrate than to do some Karaoke! And how better to top it off than belly dancers and hooka. Nothing says Happy Birthday better than a random night out with friends.

Watch out Samantha Brown!

My last day in Austin, I thought I'd try and do a lil' sight seeing. However, there wasn't too much of Austin really to explore. So, this is me... at the Capitol in part with my whole "peace signs around the world" jaunt (just for you nick) and on 6th street... and then spent the rest of the day recovering. I will be back. OH, and did I mention there was an anti-republican protest right outside my hotel. For some reason I felt the need to take 50 pictures of it. I think it was the fact that there was an anti-republican protest... in TEXAS! (of all places!)

Austin!

This year I finally got to go down to Austin and rock out at SXSW. Here are some shots of our label band Datarock playing at the MTV party. This was my first real sex, drugs and rock and roll experience although, minus the sex, and the drugs just plain rock 'n roll.

mi casa

My new apartment!! Yes, its sad but true that Marlo and I had to say goodbye to our oh so lovely shoebox in the East Village, but we packed our light bags an slightly non-exsistant furnature, and heading across the Hudson to Jersey! Don't knock it till you've tried it. We are just above the adorable Hoboken and about a 15 min. bus ride into Manhattan. I gave up living with just a bed from wall to wall with my closet underneath my bed... to a room that holds 3 of my old bedrooms, an indoor and outdoor pool, a view of the Empire State Building, a gym and the bus stop right outside! OH, and a target down the street... what more could a girl ask for?! Still decorating... its amazing what having room allows you to buy! I need to be good.. right.

Khing in de castle!

We rocked Medieval Times for Marlo's b-day... I think the pictures can speak for themselves. Needless to say, very few were sober, and the white team was ripped of being crowned, titled.. whatever they call it, by a traitor. I love when I get to be eleven years old again!

Karaoke, Bowling and New Years Eve! (UK style)

Well basides the great history and it being a world hot-spot.. the true reason for our trip across the atlantic was to celebrate new years.. and did we ever! The group of us started out the night at the apt. and I wish I remembered the rest... hopefully the pictures can tell the story that I sadly can't. All true signs of a good night, right?!

Stonehenge!

Our second day in London we decided to take a trip up to Stonehenge. Lil' did we realize that it was going to be the coldest day ever! Although it was an amazing side-trip and definitely worth freezing in the cold rain.

London! round 2...

Well I finally got GC out to one of my favorite places in the world (next to California) LONDON!!! We stayed at my works apartment with friends Lacey (my awesome co-worker) and one of my dearest friends Erin and her fiance, Andy. We also met up with a bunch of friends for a week of non-stop fun. I think I've convinced GC that we need to move there soon (or so I hope!) This is day one. We were your basic American tourists, taking pictures of everything, playing in the english phonebooths and finishing the night off with friends at the local pub and realizing that Heather.. truly is magical!
