Viva Italia

This summer was quite the adventure. Giancarlo and I set out to visit his family over in Northern Italy in a small town called Fano. The Beverly Hills of Western Europe. Our travels began with an 8 hour flight from New York into Milan, then a 2 hour flight over to Ancona (with my baggage still left back in Milan) and then a lovely 30 min. train ride up the coast of Italy to Fano... but the views are breathtaking.
Many days started off at the ever-so popular Lido..all I was missing was my cabana boy bring me a pina-colada with a multi-colored paper umbrella, but hey- thats for next summer. The 80 degree water was like being in the bahamas, and the time easily passed quickly with a nap under the Lido umbrella!
When we actually decided to be productive and venture out in this historical land... we decided to do the 4 hour train ride to Venice. 4 hours.. each way, on the hottest day of the year. Nothing but a Venitian adventure, and Vegas has nothing on the real deal. All four of us, Me.. Giancarlo, Marcello and their mom weaved our way through the tiny streets of this popular city. I have to recommend going there, but I do suggest going in a month that is not overrun with tourists and not 160 degrees out. But, it was still worth the 8 hour round-trip train ride.
